The UK national DNA database is the largest of its kind in the world, containing records of all those who have been arrested in recent years. One in 20 citizens have their DNA fingerprint on file. Human rights organisations such as Liberty protest that the system goes too far whilst others argue that the database should be extended to all citizens.
