Yorkshire NO2ID will be taking the message of Identity Cards and the Database State to the streets in the two weekends preceding the Haltemprice & Howden By-Election. Naturally, we won't be endorsing any particular candidate, but we hope to raise the profile of the issue both among voters and in the national media who will be covering events.

NO2ID supporters from across the country will be heading over to lend a hand, but the more the better. If you're able to go along and help out, please contact Yorkshire co-ordinator James Eldon-Baker on yorkshire@no2id.net

Manchester NO2ID will have a stall at the Beech Road Festival in Chorlton. This lively community festival promises to be fun and friendly, and an ideal opportunity to engage Chorlton residents in a discussion on the database state. We could use a few more volunteers for the stall, so please contact us or just turn up on the day - we'll be setting up from 11am, for a noon start.

We'll be running a Saturday afternoon stall in St. Ann's Square to raise awareness among the public and engage people in discussion about the National Identity Register. We'll be collecting signatures for the NO2ID petition to keep people in touch with the campaign.

We'll meet in the square itself at 2pm to set up shop; feel free to join us to lend a hand or just chat. You don't need any experience or equipment, just a bit of time to spare and a friendly smile!
