Manchester NO2ID will be holding an informal meeting from 7:00pm the on Tuesday 18th February at the English Lounge, 64-66 High St, Manchester M4 1EA.
The main aim of the meeting is to discuss the latest developments around medical confidentiality and the impending upload of patient GP data to the NHS Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC), which will begin in the North of England from March.
It is clear that many members of the public are not aware of the plan to upload of their medical records, or the associated privacy implications. Therefore one topic for discussion will be how we can highlight to the general public the uploads, the issues it raises and the option of everyone to opt out.
As with all our meetings everyone is welcome to attend even if it is just to meet us, or have a chat about the latest privacy and database state issues. Look out for the NO2ID sign on the table we are using, if you are not sure you will be able to recognise Manchester NO2ID members.
Phil Booth from the MedConfidential campaign will be talking about the issues with the HSCIC at a public meeting on Tuesday 25th February 2014. For more information go to:
